My Little One Turns 4!

Time really does fly! My little one is already 4, and we celebrated with a simple yet magical mermaid-themed birthday. Lately, she’s been completely obsessed with mermaids and princesses, so it was no surprise when she requested a princess mermaid party! We kept things low-key—no big elaborate cooking or crazy setups—just a beautiful cake, fun goodie bags, and an intimate gathering with a few of her closest friends at Storybook Station Hawaii. It was the perfect way to make her big day extra special, and the memories will last a lifetime!

The Mermaid Cake:

For the cake, I reached out to Tatiana, a super talented local baker who never disappoints! I ordered a mermaid-inspired design, and she truly outdid herself. The cake was a stunning two-tier masterpiece, complete with intricate details—mermaid tails, seashells, and more. I specifically ordered this smaller cake for my daughter’s class, and the kids couldn’t wait to dive into the sea-themed frosting! It was a huge hit, and my daughter was over the moon when she saw it. She couldn’t stop smiling the entire time! Luckily, it was just enough to go around and make everyone happy.

Goodie Bags for the Class:

Since my daughter wanted to share her mermaid magic with her class, we put together adorable little goodie bags. Nothing too fancy—just small toys and candies to bring a smile to their faces. I ordered these cute mermaid party favor bags and assorted toys from Amazon, along with some extra toys and candies from Target. The pack came with 30 bags, which was perfect for her class size (although, of course, that day there were 30 kids—usually, it’s around 15!). The kids were absolutely thrilled to take home a little piece of the sea!

Princess Mermaid Party:

For a more intimate celebration, we booked a small princess mermaid party with a few of her friends at Storybook Station Hawaii. The venue was absolutely picture-perfect—like stepping into a magical storybook world! We opted for a 1.5-hour petite party, perfect for a small group of 5 kids. The experience was packed with fun activities: makeovers where the kids got to choose their outfits, crafting, singing, dancing, games, and even a glow party! They also provided cupcakes and goodie bags, which the kids absolutely adored, plus a special birthday ceremony. The children had an amazing time, and it was the ideal setting for a simple yet unforgettable birthday celebration!

I also ordered some delicious mermaid cookies for the party, once again from my go-to local baker Shara—she’s the best! And just to make it extra special, I prepared a few goodie bags not only for the kids but also for the parents. It was a little thank you for sharing in the celebration!

It may have been a smaller celebration, but it was exactly what my daughter wanted. A cake, a few goodie bags, and some sweet moments with her friends were all it took to make her feel like a true princess and got to meet the mermaids. I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out—it was such a memorable birthday.

I highly recommend Storybook Station Hawaii to parents who want to keep their kids' parties small, or for those who prefer to skip the decorating and cooking and let the venue handle it all. It can be a bit pricey, but honestly, it’s worth the experience, and the kids will definitely have a blast!

Here’s to another year of magical moments with my little princess mermaid!
